Meet the team

Kareem Constantine - Director

Just the idea people would be reading about me gave me anxiety but as the director I suppose I had no choice.  My loves: laughter, my mom, family, close friends, loyalty, honesty, charity, spirituality and traveling Guilty Pleasures: I don’t drink alcohol or smoke so let’s say the beach, going to the movie theatre and Doritos. Fun facts: I pour the milk first, I’m terrified of needles but I have a tattoo, and my first job was going door to door selling newspaper subscriptions.  My dream: To get into real estate and to one day own a farm in Jamaica. As it relates to charity and volunteerism, nothing brings me more joy, hence Kareem’s Collection Drive.

Marlando McDonald - Secretary

I am a father of two little gentlemen, a big brother and a son, not in any particular order, it all depends on the day. That’s me. Professionally, I’m a Banker by day. At all other times I’m a young farmer navigating the proverbial livestock agricultural maze. Not really a social butterfly but when the right friends or family are around, the party is on. Music is my safe space and within that space, Vybz Kartel reigns supreme. However, as a lover of music, if its good, I promise to listen to it at least one. Whenever time permits, I’m always down for a good conversation about anything that will enhance my entrepreneurial spirit. Add some of my mothers famous stew peas to that equation and we have a deal. I have a giving spirit and philanthropy comes natural to me. It was only fitting for me to Kareem’s Collection Drive to embody our tagline, With a Little, Do a Lot.

Volunteers

Kendra Thompson-Phillips

Lover of art, fitness, children and community service, this is simply a continuation in the sphere of charity. I value healthy and wholesome relationships and friendship and give of myself freely to help others. I am passionate about the work we do as it tremendously impacts the lives of individuals providing hope for those whose may be waining. I hope to continue for as long as I can to contribute to improvement of the life of others in any way I can.

Andrew Phillips

A Vincy to the bone. A lover of family, heart pumping soca, humour, podcasts, tender barbecue ribs, a friendly game of rugby and some captivating Formula 1 highlights. With a craving for robust political discussion, sound legal arguments, and cognitive engagement en masse. Professionally I plan, communicate and coordinate. Mostly curious, generally interested, always mindful. When my crypto blows up there’ll be a huge donate going to Kareem’s Collection Drive, until then I will continue to embody our tag line; With little, do a lot.

I’ve never written a dating profile, let’s go! I like long walks on the beach.....Ha! If there is one thing we know about life is it happens in the blink of an eye. Be kind and positive, bring light to rooms you walk in. I try my best to live those words. 30% of my time is dedicated to being football fanatic and a music/DJ savant 🤭. Everything else fits into the remaining 70% 😎.

Nashan Jones

There’s nothing as frustrating in this life as not being able to assist someone in need.... well maybe people who put their socks on before their pants. A natural comedian with a desire to help those he can with whatever they may need is how I’d describe myself. A constant chatterbox but my friends love me. I buy books that I plan to read but never do. I live everyday as if it were my last and do nothing that I may have to apologize for. I watch the same movies over and over again simply because I can. Sincerity, honesty and loyalty are some character traits that I shine to. My friends and my family are my motivation and nothing brings me greater joy than seeing them and others prosper. Ps. Please Donate 😊

I am a fashionable geek with a strong passion for the Tech world! I love to chill with my friends and enjoy a good bite. Karaoke nights? Count me in! Remember, each one of us can make a "change" in someone else's life. Let that change be good!

If you told me in 2019 that I'd start a vlog and become more open about my disability on social media, I'd tell you you're lying! Yet, here I am, in 2021, being brave and bold about my disability and educating others about Limb Loss/Limb Difference. For me volunteering is a mutually rewarding experience. I get to help people on different parts of there journeys. When I came to Canada I volunteered at the St Felix Centre which allowed me to meet and interact with people experiencing homelessness. I enjoyed being a friendly face, listening ear and helpful hand. In the same way I hope to leave a mark on them with my resilient outlook on life with a disability.

I read this quote online that says "A person's most useful asset is not a head full of knowledge, but a heart full of love, an ear ready to listen and a hand willing to help other". That quote resonated with me because it got me thinking, what's my most useful asset? My heart: it takes nothing to think of someone and show them some kindness in their time of need A listening ear: sometimes just talking to someone and listening to their struggles can help more than you know Helping hands: I may not be able to give monetary donations but sometimes just donating my time and energy will go a long way Being a part of Kareem's Collection Drive is my way of giving back and doing what little I can to assist the less fortunate. I am grateful to be a part of this amazing cause and we will strive to reach and help more people with every collection drive.

Jervis Stone

Hi, I am Jervis, but call me Jervz or JervyJerv. I am a jovial and animated character who injects a bit of fun into everything I do. This translates to a positive person who genuinely believes I get out of life what I put in. Others say I am considerate and caring; a good communicator; a good organizer, a supportive team member, blah blah, blah... I am only doing my part to make the world a more enjoyable place. When the work is done, let’s keep a party, I’ll bring the cake.

I believe that one small act of kindness can set off remarkable chain reactions. I am where I am today because of such acts of kindness. This is why I like giving back to the community. You never know how much one gesture can transform someone else's experience. This is also why I chose a career in higher education: there are endless possibilities of transforming the world as we know it by touching one life at a time. The butterfly effect nicely sums up the way I see the world: small causes such as the flap of a butterfly's wings can have much more consequential effects.

I am passionate about my work. Because I love what I do, I am ambitious and driven. I thrive on challenge and constantly set goals for myself, so I have something to strive toward. I’m not comfortable with settling, and I’m always looking for an opportunity to do better and achieve greatness, “What is the essence of life? To serve others and to do good.” “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth.” — Muhammad Ali

I recently became a father and I now have a new appreciation for all the parents out there in the world lol. I am a police officer who loves his wife and daughter and has a passion of being of service to others. Growing up I always went around in my community and helped the elderly with cutting their lawn and planting flowers. I enjoy singing and watching movies. 🎶Shaggy and Rayvon’s “Girl your my Angel” 🎶 that’s my jam! My moto is treat others the way you would want them to treat you.

Chanick Miller

A lover of food, souls music, volunteerism, anything involving water and to "skin mi teeth...If yuh nuh learn fi lawf" Professionally, I am a Chartered Accountant with the ICAJ, while my current daily occupation is being a General Manager for a Financial Institution. It is said at Hebrews 13:16 "Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices." It is a pleasure to be associated with such a Charity and I know greater things are in store.

Shanice Riddell

Do good for others and all will be good. I’m Shanice! And I consider myself to be a bundle of joy and I love to spread this joy onto others. I’m a Chartered Accountant by day and a blossoming Home Decorator during my off-peak hours. Giving back for me is something that is very personal. I’ve engaged in volunteering from the tender age of 10 years old. It gives me great satisfaction and peace to share with those in need.
